At Heavenly Wood, we offer a wide selection of Christian church furniture. This includes altars, prayer kneelers, wooden crosses and narthex furnishings. Some of our furniture is non-denominational, able to be used by any business, office or religious faith. So what modifications are commonly made to existing non-denomination furniture to make them more Christian oriented?

Because much of our furniture is hand made, modifications can be done to almost anything we sell. Modifications that many of our customers have made to standard furniture to make it more Christian oriented include:

Lettering: We can add scriptural versus and other wording to furniture. Let us know what you want and we’ll let you know if it can be done.

Emblems & Etchings: We can add many etchings and ornate décor to our furniture. This may include a dove, an Ichthys (Ichthus), grapevine etchings and more.

Crosses: We can often add a cross to a table, lectern or podium per your request. Again, let us know what you have in mind and we’ll let you know if it is a possibility.

Custom Modifications: As you may already know, we can also re-size furniture, make it taller and remove things. You name it and we can probably do it.

Seating is one of the most important parts of a church. Think about it. Insufficient seating can make church services tough for your congregation. Church seating is available in a variety of formats, including metal and wood. There are a few questions you will want to ask yourself before making your purchase.

What style is your building? Although this isn’t a rule set in stone, it is a good idea to try and match your church seating up as closely as possible with the building it will be in. This means an older or more traditional church may require more ornate wood furniture where a newer more contemporary church may be fine with a metal frame or simple wood chair.

Is space an issue? If space is an issue, or you use a room for multiple activities, you may want to consider using stackable seating. Stackable seating frees up a lot of space. If you have a room dedicated for church services only, you may want to consider using a heavier or non-stacking chair.

Who will be using the chairs? Will your furniture be primarily used by adults or children? This is an important question to ask. Our wood furniture is very durable, and can withstand the wear children can create, but children are messy.

If children will be using the furniture, you may want to consider a chair with an open back for quicker cleanup. If children will be exclusively using the seating, you may even want to consider getting a metal or wood chair without padding. This will help cut down on stains.

Heavenly Wood offers a large selection of prayer kneelers, sometimes referred to as prie dieu kneelers. While prayer kneelers all serve a similar purpose, we offer three different types of kneelers. The type of kneeler you use will depend on where you are using it and why you are using it. Here are the three different styles you can find on our site:

Portable Prayer Kneelers – These types of kneelers usually consist of a base with a padded surface. These don’t include any additional attachments. These types of kneelers are ideal for both home and church use. Because they are small and compact, they can be used almost anywhere. They can even be tucked under pews and chairs for storage.

Prayer Kneelers With Arm Rests – These types of kneelers are the most common style used and purchased. They not only feature a padded knee rest, but also include an armrest. These prie dieu kneelers are ornate and made from wood. Many even feature padded armrests. We even offer a wedding kneeler, with armrests, that allows two people to use it simultaneously.

Prayer Kneelers With Confessionals – These types of kneelers feature a padded knee rest and a confessional screen. Available in different wood stains and fabric colors, these kneelers fit right in with any church environment.

Whether it is because of the day itself, or because it is a good time of year, Easter is a popular time for many of our customers to upgrade or add to their church furniture. This includes pews, seating, pulpits and more. Our wooden crosses are also a popular item to add to churches during this season.

Now is the best time to begin looking for and ordering Easter furniture. Why is this the case? This is because our furniture is hand made. Hand made furniture lasts longer, and with tight budgets, we want to make sure your furniture will last you for years to come. While we can probably get the furniture out to you within 2-3 weeks, some of our more ornate and custom furniture can take up to 5-6 weeks. Counting this week, Easter is about eight weeks away.
