We recently added three new Woerner wooden chairs to our site. This includes the Model 599, Model 146 and Model 147.We are excited to have these new additions on our site and consider them to be some of the best examples of wood church furniture available today.

• Woerner 146 Celebrant / Sanctuary Chair (found here) - The Woerner Model 146 has to be one of the nicest chairs we offer. It features striking oak wood grain combined with a high quality stain. This chair has a European-inspired design that has an almost medieval look. Many have commented that this chair is fit for a king and has an almost throne-like feel to it.  The regal finish on this chair is unprecedented. Few sanctuary / celebrant chairs are as beautiful and stunning as the Model 146. Notice the high arched back, the rounded pos tops and the tapered arm rests. This chair is full of intricate details. • Woerner 147 Celebrant / Sanctuary Chair (found here) - The Model 147 is very similar in design and look to the Model 146, but without arms. This chair features a high back and elegant curves, bevels and designs. The padded chair is very comfortable and is available in a variety of different fabric patterns. This chair is made from solid oak, with natural wood grain showing through the wood stain finish. It is solid, durable and designed to hold up for years if not decades. The furniture that we offer is some of the best available online. The handcrafted solid wood simply shines in a church or chapel. We are extremely excited to announce the addition of the Woerner 60DW wood chair and 60B wood bench to our lineup. Both of these pieces look great and are available to you at a great price.

There are a few reasons why our Woerner furniture is so popular. To begin with, it is all handmade. There is nothing prefab about our furniture. Wood used in our Woerner furniture is solid. Attention to detail is unprecedented. If there is even a minor gap where two pieces of wood are put together, the chair is thrown out. Because this furniture is such high quality, it usually lasts for years and even decades without issue.

The Woerner 60DW chair is a companion chair to the Woerner 60D, but it can be used on its own. It doesn’t have any padding, but is still comfortable to sit on (for a wood surface). The Woerner 60B is wooden church bench that is perfect for large congregations, assemblies, churches, chapels and much more. At Heavenly Wood, we offer a wide selection of Christian church furniture. This includes altars, prayer kneelers, wooden crosses and narthex furnishings. Some of our furniture is non-denominational, able to be used by any business, office or religious faith. So what modifications are commonly made to existing non-denomination furniture to make them more Christian oriented?

Because much of our furniture is hand made, modifications can be done to almost anything we sell. Modifications that many of our customers have made to standard furniture to make it more Christian oriented include:

Lettering: We can add scriptural versus and other wording to furniture. Let us know what you want and we’ll let you know if it can be done.

Emblems & Etchings: We can add many etchings and ornate décor to our furniture. This may include a dove, an Ichthys (Ichthus), grapevine etchings and more.

Crosses: We can often add a cross to a table, lectern or podium per your request. Again, let us know what you have in mind and we’ll let you know if it is a possibility.

Custom Modifications: As you may already know, we can also re-size furniture, make it taller and remove things. You name it and we can probably do it.

Seating is one of the most important parts of a church. Think about it. Insufficient seating can make church services tough for your congregation. Church seating is available in a variety of formats, including metal and wood. There are a few questions you will want to ask yourself before making your purchase.

What style is your building? Although this isn’t a rule set in stone, it is a good idea to try and match your church seating up as closely as possible with the building it will be in. This means an older or more traditional church may require more ornate wood furniture where a newer more contemporary church may be fine with a metal frame or simple wood chair.

Is space an issue? If space is an issue, or you use a room for multiple activities, you may want to consider using stackable seating. Stackable seating frees up a lot of space. If you have a room dedicated for church services only, you may want to consider using a heavier or non-stacking chair.

Who will be using the chairs? Will your furniture be primarily used by adults or children? This is an important question to ask. Our wood furniture is very durable, and can withstand the wear children can create, but children are messy.

If children will be using the furniture, you may want to consider a chair with an open back for quicker cleanup. If children will be exclusively using the seating, you may even want to consider getting a metal or wood chair without padding. This will help cut down on stains.

Heavenly Wood offers a large selection of prayer kneelers, sometimes referred to as prie dieu kneelers. While prayer kneelers all serve a similar purpose, we offer three different types of kneelers. The type of kneeler you use will depend on where you are using it and why you are using it. Here are the three different styles you can find on our site:

Portable Prayer Kneelers – These types of kneelers usually consist of a base with a padded surface. These don’t include any additional attachments. These types of kneelers are ideal for both home and church use. Because they are small and compact, they can be used almost anywhere. They can even be tucked under pews and chairs for storage.

Prayer Kneelers With Arm Rests – These types of kneelers are the most common style used and purchased. They not only feature a padded knee rest, but also include an armrest. These prie dieu kneelers are ornate and made from wood. Many even feature padded armrests. We even offer a wedding kneeler, with armrests, that allows two people to use it simultaneously.

Prayer Kneelers With Confessionals – These types of kneelers feature a padded knee rest and a confessional screen. Available in different wood stains and fabric colors, these kneelers fit right in with any church environment.

Whether it is because of the day itself, or because it is a good time of year, Easter is a popular time for many of our customers to upgrade or add to their church furniture. This includes pews, seating, pulpits and more. Our wooden crosses are also a popular item to add to churches during this season.

Now is the best time to begin looking for and ordering Easter furniture. Why is this the case? This is because our furniture is hand made. Hand made furniture lasts longer, and with tight budgets, we want to make sure your furniture will last you for years to come. While we can probably get the furniture out to you within 2-3 weeks, some of our more ornate and custom furniture can take up to 5-6 weeks. Counting this week, Easter is about eight weeks away.

Church furniture and the term inexpensive aren’t always two words that go together well. When it comes to church furniture, you will probably sacrifice a lot on quality if the price is “too good.” There are, however, ways to still get affordable quality church furniture at a reasonable price.

Factory seconds are furniture that has a small blemish, during the manufacturing process, that is insignificant to the naked eye, but significant enough that it can’t be passed off as flawless. Factory seconds look great and are an affordable way to purchase a chair, table, lectern and more.

We also have a nice selection of overstock furniture. This is furniture that was made for another customer, but the order was never completed. This also includes furniture that we have had sitting in our warehouse for a while and we now need to clear out to make room for more furniture.

Customers frequently ask us if they can get a podium or cross unfinished. The quick answer to this is yes. We can sell you unfinished church furniture.

Why would someone want unfinished church furniture? There are a lot of reasons for this. Some people need to have a piece of furniture exactly matched to existing furniture. For this reason, many people like to stain the furniture themselves. You would be surprised how accommodating we are regarding our church furniture. Not only can we get it to you unstained and unfinished, we can also make modifications to the furniture.

Unfinished furniture often costs less than a finished, fully stained piece of furniture. Be aware, however, that buying unfinished furniture means you are at the mercy of your own staining talent. You would be surprised how many people are creating their own home sanctuaries for religious worship. Some of these people feel their lives are too fast paced to attend a traditional church, where others like to attend church and have a sanctuary for personal meditation and worship as needed.
